James Grace
In his debut performance at the Silver Mountain Music Festival, James Grace will try to steer clear of presenting a stereotypical Spanish-themed guitar programme, but after his latest album Andaluza – Music of Spain III recently won the SAMA (South African Music Award) for Best Classical Album 2019, he feels compelled to include at least one work from the Iberian Peninsula.
That aside, music from Latin and South America will also be included, in addition to Grace’s own arrangements of music by that British songwriting duo of Lennon / McCartney.
As an added bonus the proramme will also feature guest performer Anekin Pockpass, a performance student at the University of Cape Town’s College of Music, who will join Grace on stage for a selection of works for two guitars.
