There’s so much to do on a trip to Grootvadersbosch.
For the adventurous visitors, try some of the following options:
Combine a weekend of music with mountain biking on the recently-built mountain bike trails across the Grootvadersbosch Conservancy.
Enjoy any one of five routes we’ve built. These have been built across 21 properties in the Grootvaderbosch Conservancy, with the support of the Table Mountain Fund (an associated Trust of WWF-SA).
The routes range from 16km to 45km and include routes in Heidelberg and Suurbraak. You can also combine the riding in Grootvadersbosch with an exploration into the mountain bike trails at Marloth near Swellendam.
Bring your bike with you for the weekend and enjoy music and mountain biking in our lush mountains and valleys. You can also contact the GVB conservancy about hiring a guide for your ride.
There are a number of hiking trails on the Conservancy.
Chat to the guest farms about taking on a beautiful hiking trail across their properties.
Or make use of some of the mountain biking trails – chat to Conservancy Manager, Aileen Anderson, to confirm your hike.

Visit the Drostdy Museum, a host of gift shops and art galleries in the town, or book yourself in at some of the relaxing spas here.
For the more active, take a hike through Marloth Nature Reserve or book with one of the white-water rafting outfits operating along the Breede River. And do stop off at the Bontebok National Park.
Or take a short drive through to Heidelberg.
Visit the Biltong Factory, and some of the tasty farmshops along the N2. Inspired Creations offers beautiful
hand-crafted furniture and other accessories.
